Privacy Policy

1. Hosting and Server Log Files

We host our city portal with a professional German infrastructure and cloud service provider (web host). When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files that your browser automatically transmits.

This includes:

Browser type and browser version · Operating system used · Referrer URL (the previously visited page) · Hostname of the accessing computer · Time of the server request

IP Address Anonymization

The IP address of visitors is fully anonymized by the hosting provider directly at the time of collection (when the page is called). No merging of this data with other data sources takes place.

Legal Basis

The processing of this purely technical data takes place on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free display, stability and security of our city portal.

We have concluded a legally required data processing agreement (DPA) in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR with the hosting provider used. This guarantees that the provider processes the technical data strictly according to our instructions, exclusively on servers within the European Union (or in Germany) and in compliance with GDPR.

2. Provision of Our Website / Essential Cookies

We only use cookies on our website that are technically absolutely necessary for the operation and functionality of the site (so-called essential or necessary cookies). These serve exclusively to maintain the settings you have chosen (such as language settings, country selection and the selected city on our city portal) during your session.

The use of these cookies is based on § 25 para. 2 no. 2 TDDDG. The storage of the information is mandatory to provide the service you have expressly requested (the city portal in your chosen configuration). Consent via a cookie banner is therefore not legally required.

These are so-called session cookies. They are automatically deleted as soon as you close your browser or end the session.

Tracking of your surfing behaviour or profiling for marketing purposes does not take place at any time.

3. Use of OpenStreetMap (Two-Click Solution)

We integrate interactive maps from the service "OpenStreetMap" on our city portal to display locations of sights directly. This service is provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, UK.

How the Two-Click Solution Works (Privacy by Click)

To protect your privacy as best as possible, these maps are disabled by default. When calling a page with a map component, no automatic connection to the OpenStreetMap servers is established and no data is transmitted.

Only when you actively click on the preview consent notice ("Activate map"), you consent to the data transfer. By this click, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Your IP address and the information that you have visited our city portal are transmitted to OpenStreetMap.

The data processing takes place exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time for the future by reloading the page or clearing your browser cache.

4. Data Controller and Contact Details

The data controller within the meaning of Art. 4 para. 7 GDPR is:

YOURTOWN IT A. Lerch u. A. Spengler GbR
Kirchweg 4
29223 Celle, Germany

Email: contact@yourtown.info
Phone: +49 (0) 5141 54 00 54 (Mr. Lerch)
Phone: +49 (0) 5141 90 19 00 (Mr. Spengler)

5. Duration of Data Storage

Essential cookies (language setting, country selection): These are automatically deleted as soon as you close your browser or end the session.

Server log files: The anonymized server log entries are deleted by the hosting provider in accordance with its internal guidelines. Since the IP address is fully anonymized at the time of collection, no storage of personal data takes place.

OpenStreetMap (Two-Click Solution): No data is stored by us. Whether and how long the OpenStreetMap Foundation stores the data transmitted during map usage (IP address, referrer) is determined by the data guidelines of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.

6. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients as well as the purpose of data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification or deletion of this data.

To exercise these rights, please contact the contact details listed under point 4. In addition, you have the right:

Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

7. Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority

In the event of a violation of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For our location in Celle, the competent supervisory authority is the:

Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen
